Mike Falen

Michael T. Falen is currently Director, Regional Operations Support for Metropolitan Edison, an operating subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., a Fortune 500 electric utility headquartered in Akron, Ohio. In his current role, he is responsible for Met-Ed’s Forestry, Meter Services, Fleet, Facilities and Environmental operations.

Falen joined FirstEnergy in 2007 as a business analyst in the shared services group. In 2010 he was promoted to Manager, Business Services supporting Ohio Edison. Over the next few years, he held several leadership positions of increasing responsibility within the Finance organization, each with a direct connection to operations and a focus on customer service.

In 2016, Falen was promoted to Director, Transmission Business Services, a new organization created to provide financial support to Energizing the Future, FirstEnergy’s investment program to build a stronger, smarter, more secure transmission system. He was promoted to his current position in 2020.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Akron.

Falen proudly serves as a board member and event committee chair for Elise’s Corner, an organization founded in 2015 committed to the awareness, research and patient and family support of Alexander Disease.
