Race to End AxD

Race to End AxD is a fundraising event first. Over 30 days, our community will move 117 miles together, from the Rocky Steps in Philadelphia to the Cape May Lighthouse, while asking friends, family and coworkers to sponsor every mile. Every gift supports research toward treatments and a cure for Alexander disease, and support for the families living with it.

How it works

Every participant gets a personal fundraising page to share with sponsors and donors. Join a team or start your own, and invite the people in your life to back your miles. Our ultimate goal is to raise money and spread awareness of Alexander disease.

Three ways to take part

RaceLog your activity, move along the route and ask sponsors to back your miles. Walk, run, roll, swim, therapy sessions and caregiving all count.
SpectateFundraise and cheer on the racers without logging a single mile. Spectators get their own fundraising page too.
DonateSupport a racer, a team or the whole race.

20 stops, one story

Each stop on the route stands for part of the Alexander disease journey: research, care, advocacy and the families at the center of it all. Racers unlock a digital postcard and the story behind each stop. Our Giving Tuesday checkpoint lands at Wheaton Arts on December 1.
